I love this little gem in Santa Barbara. My daughter is a type 1 Diabetic with Celiac Disease and this is the only place I can take her to and 1000% she won't eat something and end up sick. Everything is gluten-free and so yummy. The lemon bars, brownies, and coffee cake are great with coffee. We normally take extra to go. Every time we come to Santa Barbara, we stop to eat breakfast here, the service is quick and friendly, plus the restaurant is so cute.

This place is super popular, but we got in just in time at 11 on Saturday to not have a super long wait. French toast was great! Haven't had French toast in a few years, so happy to get a chance to have it again. Avotoast was also excellent. Had fresh squeezed orange juice (excellent) and peppermint tea (also excellent). Service was very kind and professional. We sat in a beautiful table right next to the window and had a wonderful brunch. Wish we had someplace like this where we live ...

Wow... for my wife with Celiacs, this restaurant is a dream come true! EVERYTHING is gluten free!!!! If no one told you it was GF, you'd never know... the dishes we had were so delicious. We're definitely coming back for lunch so we can indulge in their desserts; tarts, pies, cakes, oh yeah!

I've only eaten here twice, but it's becoming a go-to whenever I visit Santa Barbara. The vibes are really chill. There's a nice outdoor seating area if you want to enjoy the sun. And there's lots of tables inside. And though it was crowded inside, it didn't feel noisy at all. I recently got the croque madame and it was delicious! The egg was perfectly runny and the mornay sauce was rich. I did add some hot sauce, which I know can be a faux pas but I really like hot sauce on eggs. You can get the option of getting two eggs if you really want to go all out on the richness, but one was enough for me. The salad was yummy and balanced the croque madame. The greens weren't bitter at all. Service was fast and friendly. You have to order at the counter, so the line can get long. But it goes fast. I know if it was slower, I would've ended up buying a pastry because the line forms in front of the display case and they all looked so yummy and pretty! What's great about Lilac is that they have gluten-free pastries, so those who can't have gluten can still indulge. As far as the savory side, there's many vegetarian options. I really enjoy dining here and I am definitely returning in the future.
